| Eastique – the ethos of stylish and ecological living |
| |
| | An individually hand-crafted piece of work from Eastique is the ideal addition to your home or workplace. Sleek clean lines and calming colours ensure that your Eastique piece blends into your surroundings in perfect harmony. Sensually smooth to the touch and surprisingly lightweight an Eastique creation is an aesthetic feast for the senses. Each piece of Eastique lacquerware has been entirely hand-crafted in Vietnam and can take up to three months to complete. Therefore there are no two pieces exactly the same which means that you will be in possession of a unique and highly original end product – not only functional but a work of art.
We are fully aware that many of our customers are environmentally and socially conscious which is why we are only co-operating with Vietnamese suppliers who treat their raw materials with care and respect. Our products are also ecologically friendly in terms of using bamboo as the base material for nearly all of them which is a sustainable resource. (We have a few selected items that are created from resin) Bamboo is somewhat of a miracle plant as it grows in abundance, incredibly fast, without replanting and using no pesticides or fertilisers. It also releases 35 percent more oxygen than other timbers/grasses ensuring that the ecological impact of shipping it to Europe is significantly offset.
| | As each piece has undergone up to twenty stages of hand processing including thirteen layers of lacquer it is extremely durable. However to retain its beauty and quality it is important to take extremely good care of all Eastique products. Your lacquerware can be used for food that is cold or warm but not hot. It must be kept away from extreme heat, humidity or sunlight and cleaned only very gently.
We have a wide range of kitchen and decorative ware to choose from. Whether it be a simple vase or a set of rice bowls we have something to suit all: a gift for a loved one or a treat for oneself. From muted pastels to vibrant primaries; ambient colours to balance your space and your soul. The origin of lacquerware dates back to 2000 BC China where lacquered dining ware had its place in all royal households; Eastique adds a hint of Eastern mystique and style to your home.
